The Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary to complete the graces begun at baptism. Through this Sacrament, teens are more closely united to the Church and given “special strength” from the Holy Spirit to be true witnesses of Christ’s love in the world. Confirmation is the Sacrament of mission.

Formation for the Sacrament of Confirmation happens over a two year process. Candidates for Confirmation can begin the processes when they enter into their freshmen (9th grade) year of high school. After successfully meeting the requirements of year one, candidates are then invited to continue on to year two and will receive the Sacrament in the spring of that school year, typically the end of their sophomore year.

Primary Requirements:

  1. Must have received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion. Teens who have not received these Sacraments will go through year one formation and then attend RCIA adapted for children and teens for their second year formation.

  2. Teen and family must participate in the sacramental life of the Church by attending weekly Mass and desire an active faith life and understanding of the Church.

Confirmation Year One

Year One is dedicated to giving the teens a foundation of Christian discipleship. Jesus Christ invites everyone to "Come, follow me." teens are not excluded from this call. Year One Requirements:
